New Years Mead Drink Recipe
New Years Mead – Mead me at midnight, you naughty thing.
Mead is one of the most popular alcohols in Ireland, so I decided for St. Patrick’s Day that I wanted to have a unique Irish drink recipe locked and loaded. So, voila, New Years Mead! This drink has Goldschlager in it (which is Swiss), but as we all know, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. So put on Boondock Saints, turn on some Flogging Molly, wear all the green things, and serve these up for your boyos and lasses. It’s gonna be a fun ride.
This drink has that little bit of spice and that little bit of sweet, making it a nice balanced sipper. Emphasis on the sipper, unless you’re on a mission this St. Patrick’s Day… It’s even got a little bit of gold flakes in there thanks to the Goldschlager, which makes it my pot at the end of the rainbow. You can keep the coins. If you’ve never had/heard of mead before it’s a wine made from fermented honey, and it blends well with the apple, cinnamon, and lemon flavors in the drink. I’m even thinking about heating it up with some orange slices this Christmas, maybe reinvent it for yet another holiday. Maybe you’ll come up with some even better alterations of your own? Good luck, drink responsibly, and enjoy!
