Valentines Day Brie en Croute, sweet supple baked cheese for romantic time together… or alone.
With Valentines Day quickly approaching, what better way is there to say “I love you” than a heart shaped baked pastry packed with cheese, fruit, and nuts? The answer: there’s not. There’s not a better way. For those of you who are approaching not Valentines Day, but National Singles Awareness Day, just pretend the berry filling is the blood of your enemies! Either way, everyone can wear a smile while eating this brie en croute come February 14th. So, let’s get sappy, fat, and happy.
Brie en croute is pretty flexible. So long as you’re combining compatible ingredients like fruit, nuts, honey, etc. the combinations are really endless. Check out this brie en croute I made awhile back to see what I mean. These pastries get served up with crackers of your choice, and they make for a wonderful display piece for events. They’re like a French pinata. You crack them open and ooey gooey cheesy fruity goodness comes spilling out to be scooped up with crackers and/or your bare hands. Have at it, and I hope this recipe makes for a very happy February 14th. Good luck, and enjoy!
